Below, replacing the original teak dowels with new hand-carved
ones on Marcus Leavitt's board...1/16th of an inch was joined off the
original to insure a tight joint and to clean some serious knicks.

The curly redwood board on the left is a replica of the restoration.
The log for the curly redwood board was milled in Fieldbrook,
California, from a log left behind from the early 1900's.
